All the beginnings can be hard, and sometimes more at the beginning of the year. Mostly because you are starting a lot of different projects (either at work, school or personal).
You can also read our past blog of five things you can do to relax, by clicking here.
So, I’m going to give you different ideas of how you can relax and enjoy yourself.
Even though it can be tiring doing exercise, it can be one of the most relaxing activities out there.
It can drop your levels of stress so much. Mostly because when we are exercising our hormones start working and we feel better.
Physical activity not only makes us feel relax but also help us to clear our mind and found better solutions to our problems.
This one is used a lot by a psychologist to help their patients to clear their minds.
Let me explain you (a quick reminder that I have a degree in psychology) when you control your breathing is helpful. The deeper the breath is the more oxygen gets to the brain and help us clear our mind of everything.
Deep breaths help to relax. All you need to do is take 5 or 6 deep breaths before going to sleep and you will start notice how you sleep changes.
Drinking warm beverages
A lot of people do this without knowing how benefits you.
Drinking warm beverages like tea, coffee or milk help release a lot of stress and tension. The secret is drinking beverage that doesn’t contain caffeine in them and are low in sugar. Because these ingredients produce the opposite effect.
Doing activities that you like
These activities all of us choose them, it can be reading, playing an instrument, painting, whatever you choose they help you a lot to release stress.
The activities that we enjoy they tend to occupy a lot of our attention, so by doing them they clear our mind and enjoy ourselves.
Taking a bath
This is relaxing not only for your mind but to your body. When we accumulate a lot of stress your body is the one showing the signs creating back pains or sore muscles.
But when you take a bath or long shower, your body relaxes and release the tension. And if you want to improve the experience you can add a bath bomb or scented candles or music, is your choice.
This can be really helpful if you are really busy and you have little free time.
Having a scented candle in your room, office or bathroom can be helpful. The aromatherapy can help you clear your mind, releasing all the stress and sometimes controlling your nerves.
Some plants like lavender, chamomile, and jasmine are the most known for the relaxation. You can find them in different presentations like oils and incense stick allowing you to have them at hand and improving other activities like taking a bath, a massage or falling sleep.
Taking a massage
This is an allay to your body, especially your back where a lot of tension can be retained. In that area of your body thank to stress it can create a lot of muscle knots and turn into back pains.
Give yourself a treat and take a massage once a month. Found a place that you like and enjoy. Relax with the different oils and aromatherapy they use. Besides with the help from the massage all of the tension that you have in your back will go away.
Most of the activities that we mention we talked about music. Listening to music that we enjoy might sound so simple. But for your mind is a method to release the tension, feelings, and everything that you have in your mind.
The same goes for white noise or nature sounds. These sounds can make our mind find a pacific mood and found silence.
All the activities that we mentioned can help you with you days, weeks or sometimes even months when you have a lot of stress. And keep your levels of stress, anxiety or tension under control.
There are many ways and activities that you can make to relax. However, remember that you NEED to take a break to listen to your body. Take a break once in a while, sometimes even the best athletes take a break at some point.
